All hail Caesar! The King of tattoos, Caesar Emanuel of VH1’s Black Ink Crew is expanding his empire to the dirty south. The hit reality TV show is setting up shop in Atlanta, and #SweetCandorTV had the opportunity to attend a private launch party in Buckhead to celebrate.
The event was extremely low-key, but we were in the building among ATL’s finest. Caesar along with cast member Teddy Rucks showed love for the culture by inviting out some of Atlanta’s up-and-coming artists such as Silento and former B5 band member Dustin Michael. A few VH1 veterans like Andrea Kelly (Hollywood Exes) and Young Joc (Love & HipHop ATL) were also on the scene.
It was a party fit for a king; the event was decked out in gold décor ceiling to the floor, and Caesar, in all of his royalty, rocked crown all night. There was a D.J. spinning, dancing, food, cake, champagne, liquor pouring and the VH1 cameras were rolling.
Caesar has been on the move this year with the Black Ink brand. After much success with the original Black Ink Crew on 113rd in Harlem, NY, Caesar opened his second shop on 125th street, as well as expanded into Chicago with the spin-off Black Ink Crew: Chicago, which features artist Ryan Henry and his crew at 9 Mag tattoo shop.
The shop, located on North Fulton drive in Buckhead, will be the home of VH1’s newest Black Ink family. The show will follow suit with the other series and feature an African-American-owned tattoo shop here in Atlanta.
We’re excited to see what Black Ink Atlanta will bring to the brand. Be sure to subscribe to #SweetCandor TV on all social channels for the exclusive on events like this.
